It’s Genius respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how and why we use it, who we may share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have in relation to your information.
This policy applies when you visit the It’s Genius website, create an account, register for or purchase a course, participate in our courses, contact us or otherwise use our services.

We do not normally need to collect special category personal information, such as information about your health, ethnicity, religion or political opinions, in order to provide our courses. Please do not provide this type of information unless it is genuinely necessary.

3. Payment Information
Payments for paid courses are processed securely using Stripe.
When you make a payment, Stripe may collect information such as your name, billing information, payment method details and transaction information in order to process the payment, authenticate transactions, prevent fraud and provide its payment services.
It’s Genius does not receive or store your full payment card number.
We may receive information relating to the transaction, such as confirmation that payment has been made, the amount paid, the course purchased, payment status and information required to deal with refunds, disputes or customer service enquiries.
Stripe processes personal information in accordance with its own privacy practices.

4. How We Use Your Personal Information
We may use your personal information to:
• create and administer your learner account;
• register you for courses;

• improve our courses, services and customer experience; and
• send marketing communications where we are legally permitted to do so.
We will not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with the reason it was collected unless permitted or required by law.

5. Our Lawful Bases for Using Personal Information
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for processing personal information.
Depending on the circumstances, we may rely on:
Contract — where processing is necessary to provide a course or service you have requested or purchased, administer your account or take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Legal obligation — where we need to process or retain information to comply with a legal requirement, such as financial, tax or regulatory obligations.
Legitimate interests — where processing is reasonably necessary for our legitimate business interests, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests. This may include operating and improving our services, maintaining security, preventing fraud and responding to enquiries.
Consent — where we ask for your permission for a particular use of your information, including certain marketing or cookie activities where consent is required.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

6. Marketing Communications
We may occasionally send you information about It’s Genius courses, learning opportunities, offers or other relevant services where you have consented to receive marketing or where we are otherwise permitted to do so by law.
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe facility provided in the communication or by contacting us at hello@itsgeniuscourses.ai.
Opting out of marketing will not prevent us from sending essential communications relating to a course you have purchased or registered for, your account, payments, security or other service-related matters.

7. Our Learning Platform
Our online learning platform is provided using LearnWorlds.
When you create an account or use an It’s Genius course, information necessary to provide the learning service may be processed through the LearnWorlds platform. This can include account details, course enrolments, learning activity, progress, quiz information, communications and technical information associated with your use of the platform.
LearnWorlds processes information in connection with the provision of its services to online school administrators and learners.

8. Who We May Share Personal Information With
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information where necessary with organisations that help us operate It’s Genius and provide our services.
These may include:
• LearnWorlds, which provides our online learning platform;
• Stripe, which processes payments;
• providers of website hosting, email, communications, IT and security services;
• professional advisers such as accountants, legal advisers or insurers where necessary;
• regulators, law enforcement agencies, courts or other authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law; and
• another organisation in connection with a genuine sale, restructuring or transfer of all or part of the It’s Genius business, subject to appropriate protection of personal information.
Service providers should only receive the information reasonably necessary for them to perform the services they provide.

9. International Transfers
Some organisations that provide technology or other services to us may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that it receives a level of protection required by applicable UK data protection law.
This may include relying on UK adequacy regulations or using appropriate contractual safeguards or other lawful transfer mechanisms where required.

10. How Long We Keep Personal Information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing our services and meeting legal, accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
Different types of information may therefore be kept for different periods.
In deciding how long to retain information, we consider the nature of the information, why we hold it, whether it remains necessary for the learner relationship, applicable legal requirements and whether the information may be required to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
When personal information is no longer required, we will delete it, anonymise it or otherwise dispose of it appropriately.

11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
We also use service providers that maintain security measures appropriate to the services they provide.
However, no internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you are responsible for keeping your account password and login details confidential.

12. Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis on which we process your information, UK data protection law gives you rights in relation to your personal information.
These may include the right to:
• request access to the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
• ask us to delete personal information in certain circumstances;
• ask us to restrict the way we use your information in certain circumstances;
• object to certain uses of your personal information;
• receive certain information in a portable format where the right to data portability applies; and
• withdraw consent where we rely on your consent to process information.
These rights are not absolute and may not apply in every circumstance.
You have the right to object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.
To exercise your rights, please contact hello@itsgeniuscourses.ai.
We may need to ask for information to verify your identity before dealing with a request.
We will not normally charge you for exercising your data protection rights.

13. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we use your personal information, please contact us first at hello@itsgeniuscourses.ai so that we have an opportunity to investigate and respond.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection.

14. Cookies
Our website and learning platform use cookies and similar technologies.
For information about the cookies we use and how you can manage your choices, please see our Cookie Policy.
